I know from personal experience that adapting to life with epilepsy is never easy. Still, there are ways to help yourself cope with limitations, overcome challenges, and have a meaningful life. One way of doing this is accepting our epilepsy. I understand why? why? why? is an easier question to ask than accept our condition. Acceptance can be mistaken for giving in. But we need to understand that refusing to accept the reality of our lives and limitations hold us behind in life. It prevents you from having a meaningful life by making the changes you need to achieve your goals. “Acceptance doesn’t mean resignation; it means understanding that something is what it is and that there’s got to be a way through it.” – Michael J. Fox
